The military quickly secured all the entrances and exits of the secret passages. Members of the Chu family entered one after another, but when Xiang Kun tried to follow, he was intercepted by Xiang Lingyun, who had rushed over after receiving the news.

“Don’t go. Xiao Hui has made such a mistake, and the Chu family is now most suspicious of us. They won’t let you follow,” Xiang Lingyun said anxiously and angrily. But at least his reason remained, knowing that the Chu family would never want to see any members of the Xiang family involved in the rescue.

Xiang Kun thought of the image of Xiang Hui being sucked into the black hole and the expression of Chu Yan when he rushed into the tunnel. He reluctantly stopped.

The reality did indeed align with what Xiang Lingyun said. Fan Xiangnan guarded the entrance after the Chu family entered the tunnel, not allowing anyone else to enter, demonstrating a distrust toward anyone other than the Chu family.

The Presidential Palace, as the residence of a nation’s leader, has an extremely complex underground network of secret passages, with very well-designed security measures. If used by the host to evade pursuit during wartime, it would indeed be very effective. However, if the roles were reversed and the host had to search for someone within these passages, the situation would become quite challenging and not at all enjoyable.

Everyone spread out their spiritual powers to orient themselves in the underground tunnel, making the power in the air a little messy for a while.

Qiao Zhiya’s ears remained alert, standing on end. His expression had been tense since entering the secret passage. After pausing for a moment, he purposefully ran towards a certain direction.

Chu Rong was busy gathering his strength, while holding down Chu Huai and Chu Yan who were too anxious to maintain their sensibility, motioned them to put away their strength and keep up with Qiao Zhiya.

Layer by layer, Qiao Zhiya’s earth-elemental magic dispersed, carefully capturing the familiar fluctuations in the air, sometimes faint, sometimes absent. Unable to resist, Qiao Zhiya quickened his pace until he came upon a wall in front of him.

——This tunnel lead to a  dead end. To pass, they must detour.

Qiao Zhiya became increasingly anxious because he noticed that the faint spiritual power fluctuations were also moving, and at a fast pace. Realizing he couldn’t afford to delay any longer, he immediately took out a small hammer and struck the wall with all his strength.

“Boom!”

The wall, made of some kind of alloy, instantly shattered and broke open, sending tremors through the entire passage. Qiao Zhiya agilely slipped through the hole in the wall, reaching another secret passage, and continued to move forward swiftly.

Chu Rong and others followed.

Passing through one wall after another, one layer after another, Qiao Zhiya lost track of time. Finally, the faint fluctuations became clearer. Qiao Zhiya accelerated even more and once again raised his hammer towards another wall.

After a bang, the terrible Zerg hissing came across his head and covered his face, and numerous arthropods squeezed out of the hole and came here.

There were actually Zerg here!

Qiao Zhiya froze in fear, but Chu Rong quickly reached out, pulling him back and standing in front to shield him. Chu Rong then took out a handheld double-barreled gun and fired directly towards the opening. Following closely behind was Chu Yan, while Chu Huai, rarely revealing the ferocity typical of the Chu family, drew a long knife and aimed it at the approaching Zerg creature, slashing at it.

After cleaning up these Zergs at the fastest speed, everyone was in a deep mood, and speeded up their pace.

“Look ahead!”

Chu Yan suddenly spoke, prompting Chu Huai to hasten his pace towards the faint light ahead. After dispatching the Zergs surrounding something, he rushed in only to find his hope turning into disappointment at what lay before him.

“It’s the old senior doctor and Xiang Jing,” he replied, his grip tightening on the long knife. His black suit had become disheveled, stained with some Zerg blood and mucus, making him look both disheveled and formidable.

Chu Rong also spotted the old doctor and Xiang Jing lying unconscious in the protective shield in the corner. He speculated that the old doctor had used the shield to protect himself and Xiang Jing in the moment of crisis. He said, “Xiang Hui and the others must be nearby.”

Qiao Zhiya’s ears twitched suddenly. He swiftly dashed forward, taking out his small crossbow. The others were momentarily stunned but quickly followed suit. Chu Rong then sent a location signal to Fan Xiangnan outside, instructing him to send someone in to evacuate the old doctor and Xiang Jing.

After breaking through several more walls, Chu Rong’s expression suddenly changed. He reached out and stopped Qiao Zhiya, who wanted to continue charging forward, while also halting Chu Huai and Chu Yan.

Ahead of them, the Zergs were nowhere to be seen, and an exit of the secret passage, obviously recently dug out by hand, was revealed. However, a massive black hole suddenly appeared, rapidly expanding and occupying the entire passage.

If Chu Rong hadn’t stopped in time, they might have been sucked into this huge black hole that suddenly appeared at this time.

“Such a pity, we didn’t catch you. Your concern for Gu Yan’an is only superficial,” came Long Baorou’s voice, distorted and eerie through the black hole, tinged with a mocking smile.

“Chu Rong, you ruined my life. I want you to live in pain for the rest of your life! And that Native bitch… you—”

The villain doth speak too much.

Chu Rong and Qiao Zhiya suddenly raised their hands together, one lifting a double-barreled gun and the other a crossbow. Spiritual power and magic surged simultaneously as bullets and arrows, carrying immense waves of force, shot straight towards the black hole and exploded with a deafening roar.

The black hole fizzled silently a few times, and suddenly collapsed and disappeared, revealing the figure of Long Baorou covered by a black robe.

She probably didn’t expect them to be so cruel. Long Baorou flinched, then quickly raised her hands as if she wanted to make another black hole.

But it was already too late. Qiao Zhiya’s wood-elemental magic had silently wrapped around her from behind, instantly forming vines that entangled her neck and limbs, then rapidly spreading until she was bound into a ball of plants.

On the other side, Chu Huai and Chu Yan had already rushed to the entrance of the passage. They found Gu Yan’an and Zhuang Yu lying inside a peculiar black device, covered by a specially made Chu family protective shield. They moved forward to take them out.

Seizing the moment, Xiang Hui, hidden in the shadows, suddenly rushed out. A strange faint red light emanated from the device beneath Gu Yan’an and Zhuang Yu, and then a larger black hole appeared, threatening to engulf Chu Huai and Chu Yan.

Chu Rong’s eyes were sharp. He rushed forward, and raised his gun again.

Qiao Zhiya then threw out Qiuqiu and its two children, while using his magic to stimulate Xiang Hui’s brain. He urgently exclaimed, “Qiuqiu, go! Bring them back!”

The vines surged madly in the passage. As Chu Huai and the others were involuntarily pulled backward by the black hole, the vines swiftly wrapped around their waists. With a powerful swing, they were flung far back into the passage. Meanwhile, Qiuqiu’s children enveloped Gu Yan’an and Zhuang Yu along with the protective shield around them, carrying them away to a safe distance from the black hole.

Chu Rong arrived just in time, aiming at the black hole and unleashing a barrage of shots. Meanwhile, Qiao Zhiya swiftly approached and grabbed Xiang Hui, who had been immobilized by the stimulated spiritual power, before swiftly retreating.

“Boom boom boom!”

“Hss hsss shh!”

After the explosions, the black hole didn’t dissipate; instead, it spewed forth a horde of Zergs. Qiao Zhiya hurriedly instructed Qiuqiu to use its vines to cover everyone, while Chu Rong swiftly retreated to evade the first wave of Zerg attacks. He fought off the Zergs while seeking an opportunity to continue attacking the black hole.

Chu Yan and Chu Huai also quickly snapped out of their bewilderment. They no longer approached the black hole, and only took out long-range weapons to attack the black hole.

The screeches of the Zergs and the thunderous sound of gunfire echoed through the underground. The secret passage, already damaged by Qiao Zhiya’s destruction of numerous walls, finally succumbed to the onslaught of the Zergs and sustained artillery fire, leading to the sound of collapsing walls and ruptures.

“Get out of that exit and inform the people above to evacuate! Hurry!” Chu Rong took the time to order.

After setting Xiang Hui down and anxiously checking on Gu Yan’an’s condition, Qiao Zhiya quickly took out a communicator and began contacting Fan Xiangnan, who was still waiting above. Meanwhile, Chu Huai and Chu Yan intensified their bombardment of the black hole. When the black hole disappeared, they charged forward, drawing the Zergs away from the area, creating space for Qiao Zhiya and Qiuqiu to leave.

Above ground, some buildings within the Presidential Palace began to shake. Fan Xiangnan, upon receiving the orders, quickly arranged for the evacuation of all personnel and personally entered the secret passage to assist the team members in bringing out the old doctor and Xiang Jing.

When Xiang Lingyun saw this, he quickly turned to help. Xiang Kun, meanwhile, immediately turned around and ran towards the most violent place.

Just as he dashed out of the main building of the Presidential Palace, a building at the corner, along with the nearby garden, suddenly collapsed with a loud crash. Then, a chilling screech of Zergs reverberated, and a large swarm of Zergs surged out from the ground.

“Ah-! It’s the Zerg!” Someone screamed in panic.

Xiang Kun noticed this and ran towards it at an even hurried pace.

After the collapse of the building, the ground tremors intensified. He stumbled and fell, then as he got back up, he witnessed a black and gold mecha rising from the rubble and charging towards the Zergs in the air. Before he could react, another brown mecha ascended alongside the black and gold one.

Not far away, Chu Yan and Chu Huai were charging forward, each carrying a person on their backs. Behind them trailed a massive ball of vegetation. The ball of vegetation noticed his presence and suddenly shot out a humanoid object towards him.

He reflexively went forward to pick it up, but miscalculated the volume of the humanoid object, and was hit straight, and fell to the ground.

“Come on! The Presidential Palace is going to collapse!”

Chu Yan and Xiang Kun’s eyes met for a moment, the former anxiously reminded him aloud.

Xiang Kun snapped back to reality, only to realize that the humanoid object thrown by the ball of vegetation was none other than the unconscious Xiang Hui. He quickly stood up, carrying Xiang Hui on his back, and amidst the increasingly violent ground tremors, he turned and ran towards a safer location.

After a chaotic scramble, everyone was promptly evacuated by the responsive military into a large hovercraft, which stopped in midair.

On the other side, the black-gold mecha and the brown mecha coordinated to kill the last Zergs before returning.

The crowd couldn’t help but embrace each other, cheering and crying in relief for surviving the ordeal. Then, as if to add to their celebration, the unstable ground suddenly rumbled loudly. The Presidential Palace, with all the evils brought by its previous occupants, collapsed into ruins.
