Patty looked at the ceiling of his house with a lot of thoughts weighing over his mind. This was his time to just lay around and do nothing with nothing bothering him, but he was forced to. Now he had to decide whether he should help Grammo or not.

After Grammo asked Patty for his help, Patty didn’t immediately answer him. At that time classes were already over so Patty had to excuse himself and go back home. He promised Grammo that he will have an answer tomorrow.

Of course, Grammo knew that his request was not simple. Patty had to make this decision whether he would put his own safety above Grammo.

Grammo went home thinking that Patty would deny his request. Of course he would. Grammo had nothing to offer to Patty and the request was too heavy for someone to carry.

Of course, Grammo didn’t know that Patty had another incentive into accepting the request. The system incentivized him with another large amount of rewards all including more summon scrolls.

Patty was in a dilemma.

He was so distracted that he was forced to turn down the TV. He couldn’t even access the the Internet because the system was showing the mission screen at him at any chance it can get.

Whenever he would browse the worldwide web, the system would somehow overlap the computer screen with the system screen showing the mission and its tempting rewards.

Now that he knew how powerful a high-class minion was, he couldn’t help but wish that he had more. If an A-class minion could somehow increase senses so much that he could perceive time as slower, then what would an S class minion give him?

He was like a gambler. All he wanted to do now was to access the system and summon for more minions just for a small chance to get S class or higher minions. Not even that, he would be satisfied if he could just get more variety with the jobs that the minions could do.

He was just at the tip of the iceberg when it came to knowing the full potential of the system. There were still a lot more that were locked away, and he got the sense that it was because he didn’t have the right minion for the right job.

He was addicted. And it was all because of the systems fault. It kept giving him missions that would reward summary knowing that Patty was too lazy to complete those missions. In order to satiate his desire for more minions, he has to break his one and only rule.

Just this one time, he has to get up off his ass and do something. He was dreading this.

And whenever he was conflicted with a problem, this hard, there was only one thing he could do to remedy his ailing mind: go to sleep.

He could think about other solutions for this problem that he was having but he disliked thinking about anything. He just wanted to keep his mind empty even if it meant that he had to go ahead with the mission.

And going to sleep now, with mean that he would wake up tomorrow with new rewards from the system. That would always perk him up.

—————

Professor Wraitheborne sat on his desk with tons and tons of paperwork towering over his head. There were a lot of things on his mind: his students, their dreams, the lecture, and the wastrels in his class.

One particular bad egg was patty. But he knew he was gonna have trouble with the king of laziness. What he didn’t know was that he would have trouble with Grammo. Why was he so stubborn that he could not admit that he was not suited for singing?

Grammo was so talented in other areas, but he just had to pick an impossible dream. It all his experiences and all his students that has taught, he learned that stubborn people like him, and Patty would go down a road that would lead them straight down a cliff. The bad thing was that they would be bringing their professor down with them.

Because of that he had to fill out forms informing the school that he had done everything he could to help his students. He also had to fill out letters to the principal and the teachers why he would be the only one missing students when it came time to graduation.

Not only that he still had to worry about the upcoming physicality tests. But he didn’t want to think about them because he knew it would just infuriate him the point that he couldn’t do the rest of his work. He would save the worst for the last.

All the paperwork that he was doing and will be doing for the next month was all because Patty and Grammo had impossible dreams that would never be achieved.

In compassion, the rest of the teachers only had stacks of papers that were 10 pages in depth. Where was he the one that gets stuck with the worst students?

Suddenly, the door opens, and the quiet chattering of the professors and teachers suddenly went silent. The creaking of chairs was the only thing heard in the faculty, as they all stood up in respect for who just walked in the door.

Adulation and flattery suddenly burst out from the mouth of every professor and teacher trying to get more budget for their projects. Professor Wraithborne was the only one who kept his desk and kept doing his work.

He didn’t even hear anything around him.

“Looks like you have your work cut out for you.” Someone from behind the mountain of paper called out to him.

Professor Wraithborne already rolled his eyes as he recognized who it was. He despised the voice. It was his old friend and rival, and the current principal of this school: Frawzse.

Most of his colleagues would give the principal words of admiration and adoration. But that was because they didn’t know Frawzse like he did. They see her and think about how talented and accomplished she was for her age, but they didn’t know what she did and who she trampled to get there.

“I don’t have time for you” said the professor.

The fiery red hair of Frawzse circled her whole face. it gave her a sense of regalness and might that would force anyone who sees her to respect her. And those who didn’t, suffered the consequences and realized that she wasn’t just a pretty face.

“but I don’t care.” Poisoned words immediately came out of her mouth. “You’ll make time.”

Professor Wraithborne, looked up from his desk and gave her an angry look. But she didn’t care and just responded with another thick book of papers to add to his already busy schedule

And that wasn’t enough, three more stacks of papers with 500 pages each added to his already towering stack of busy work.

“what is this? I won’t do this!”

Frawzse raised her eyebrow. “It’s important work. And you will.”

The professor passed through the stack of papers and immediately burst out with anger. “ This is just worthless Research that should be done by assistant teachers. This is beneath me!”

“You are beneath me! You will do whatever I say because I tell you to. That is our dynamic. That is your job,” shouted the principal.

The professor greeted his teeth and swallowed his pride. He can’t win this battle. He already lost once and he will lose again. His time will come, but that isn’t today.

And just as the principal was about to leave, she gave him another mocking look. “The physical tests are coming up. You know how important that is for professors, right?”

The professor gave her an indignant look.

“Your class performs badly, it will be grounds for permanent termination. Your career will be over.”

Then she gave him a wink and said goodbye with one finger.

Professor Wraithborne can’t let this happen. His story isn’t complete yet. And he won’t let a few rotten apples spoil his hard earned meal that is ice cold: revenge.

The solution is simple. He looked at the names of Patty and Grammo and used a permanent marker to cross their names out of his class list.
