Patty woke up in a very good mood. After all, he fell asleep with almost 700,000 Chains worth of Kores in his arms last night. All he needed was to find a way to sell them, and he would be set for life. The problem lay in selling them, of course. He couldn’t simply walk into a store and purchase a house worth one million and use a Kore to pay for them, at least not with official stores. He would get investigated in the blink of an eye.

“Good morning, Master,” greeted the slime as it popped out of the screen.

“Good morning to you too, Slime. Say, how about I just post online that I have high-purity Kores that I want to sell and if they want to purchase it, then they would have to come to my house?”

The slime turned into a solid cube from the shock. It was too early in the morning for his Master to be saying bombshells that could lead to disaster. As a Diplomatic Slime, it was his job to know the behaviors of humans, especially their greed. Even if Slime didn’t know all the humans in the world, it knew that there were enough bad people in the world desperate to do anything to earn that much money.

“These people on the internet are bad, Master. Even if you try to be anonymous, they have the power to track you down the moment you visit the internet! They could ambush you right here and right now!”

And just as the Slime said that, there was a knock on the door.

KNOCK KNOCK

Patty, of course, was too lazy to go over the door and just welcome the guest. “Come in.”

The door opened and a silhouette of a man with a strangely small head and a big buff physique entered the room. He didn’t seem fazed that there were full of take-out platters, junk food wrappers, and empty cup noodles strewn about the floor haphazardly. Although the floor was full of litter, the man skillfully navigated through the trash and walked over to Patty’s bed.

“You owe me,” the man said.

Patty looked at him and put on a shocked face. “How did you find me?”

“Dude. I’m your best friend. I’ve been here thousands of times,” Sam said.

Patty stopped acting surprised and simply turned his attention back to the television playing a very funny sitcom show. Even though Patty watched this show multiple times, he still acted like he hadn’t so that Sam wouldn’t bother him. It didn’t work.

“Didn’t you remember? I helped you with your Sunverk rejection letter?” Patty suddenly asked for help from Sam and even said that it was a matter of life or death. So, Sam was forced to ditch his very important interview with the Atlas company, making him miss the opportunity to get a very good B-class Teqx.

“Oh yeah. Thanks, man.”

“That’s it?!” That was a very big opportunity for Sam, but he ended up forfeiting because he had to help Patty. “Even after I finished writing the rejection letter, I rushed over to where you are because I thought your life was in danger. I even heard that Griff brought out a Fiendish Armament!”

It turned out to be okay because Patty was able to destroy the Fiendish Armament with his new powers, although nobody knew about it except for Griff and Grammo. He also didn’t want to explain everything to Sam because that would take too much effort. So, he just lied so that his explanation would be easier.

“Did he? I don’t remember.”

Sam sighed in exasperation. “You didn’t…how could you forget…whatever. The fact of the matter remains that I helped you, now it’s your turn to pay me back.”

Even though he appreciated Sam for all his help, Patty was still too lazy to pay back the favor. If he could in the comfort of his own home, Patty would do it. However, knowing Sam, he would want to go outside and do something.

“You should join me for an audition with the Ruober group. I heard that they have an influx of openings for their internships. Many from our school are trying out to try their luck. I even heard that some of them already got accepted!”

“No, thanks.” Patty had no need for companies or groups for that matter. He already had the system to help him get stronger. He didn’t need the Teqx from the company, and he could even buy Teqx himself if he wanted to. He also didn’t need their resources for cultivation because he had all the money he needed with the Kores he had.

Sam knew that his lazy friend would never agree to this kind of thing, so he didn’t try to persuade him any further.

But, today was Sam’s only free day. It had been a long time since the two of them acted like friends and hung out with each other. Since he was already out, Sam wanted to invite Patty to go hang out in clubs or hangouts where they could hang out and converse with other people. Patty was in dire need of networking. The only people he knew were a handful. He didn’t even know everyone in his class!

“I’ll consider us even if you go with me to a club or something. We need to meet some new people or girls hopefully.”

But Patty was disinterested. Dating people was too exhausting. He didn’t like the courting stage or talking stage that preceded becoming a couple. If two people liked each other, then why don’t they just get together? Why did they have to go through all the trouble of dating and doing all those kinds of theatrics?

Patty was going to refuse Sam’s request, but when he turned his face to look at Sam, he saw him bend down and take something from the floor. He picked up a rectangular piece of flat paper that was colored black with gold lettering. It looked like a movie ticket.

Oh no. How did that get there? That was his Do-Everything Coupon where anybody could issue him a mission that he had to do!

“What’s this?” Sam asked. He was about to read what it said when Patty suddenly appeared in front of him and snatched the ticket away from his hands.

Sam was surprised at the quickness that Patty showed. He didn’t think that his sluggish friend could move that fast. He actually couldn’t see him! He was confident in his ability as an athlete to have superior physical ability than the normal person, but Patty was somehow so much faster than him.

That was probably the fastest Patty had ever moved. He was desperate to prevent Sam from using the coupon and forcing him to do a mission. He thought that he stored that ticket under his bed, so why did it suddenly appear on the floor where Sam could see it as plain as day?

Thankfully though, Patty was able to snatch the ticket before it was activated–

{Mission}

{Requirement}

Return Sam’s favor: Join him for a night out

{Reward}

400 Yi Power

{Punishment}

Failure to finish the mission will result in an immediate death

“WHAT. THE. F–”

“Fudge chocolate is so good…” said the character on the television screen.

The black Do-Everything Coupon on Patty’s hands suddenly turned to ashes and fell through his hands. It can’t be. How did it activate? Patty snatched it out of Sam’s hands before he could even try to read it! Did it automatically activate because he already asked for the favor before he touched the coupon?

Patty fell on his knees as he saw the mission on his screen. How could the punishment for failure be an immediate death? All the missions from before never even had a punishment, but now that the coupon existed, it suddenly went to the very extremes of punishments. It couldn’t start with a slight debuff?

“Now we got problems, and I don’t think we can solve ‘em. You made a really deep cut, and baby, now we got bad blood,” (Bad Blood by Taylor Swift)

It was the system’s payback for blackmailing it the other day. Patty got an SSS+class ability without even doing anything for the system, and now he was going to pay for it with the coupon. Although the SSS+class ability was good, he didn’t think it was worth all these troubles.

“But, if you really don’t want to go with me, then I won’t force you. I know you like to spend your days inside the house and doing nothing,” Sam dejectedly said.

“Why didn’t you say that earlier,” whispered Patty.

“Did you say something?”

Patty took a deep breath and did his best to smile at Sam. “I said that I would love to go out and spend energy socializing with unknown people.”

The television behind Patty showed a character bursting on fire because of his anger.
