In the morning, I bid farewell to my girlfriend before getting everyone ready to get kidnapped in a bit and make the journey to the south, Theo wasn't as enthusiastic as I was, but he didn't fight it, he agreed to be in the mission after all, he really loves me more than he lets on.
The ship rocked gently as it sailed southward while I leaned against the railing, watching the coastline pass by. After what felt like an eternity, we finally arrived at the port town in the southern kingdom. The town had a quaint, vintage charm to it, but it was still pretty old-looking and had blacksmiths at every corner, some screaming out their pricing and basically having some sort of competitive screaming match.
So now...how am I supposed to get myself kidnapped by a group of criminals when I was anything but inconspicuous? Sure, I had a bit of fame under my belt, but being kidnap-worthy was not something that came with it. Maybe Theo can get kidnapped by old desperate noble women, but I don't see any of them here.
The Academy knew of a meetup spot where the suspects of stealing the stuff would meet up and told us to get kidnapped there, but how? was a risky target for these criminals. They wouldn't want to risk kidnapping someone like me, not when it could potentially offend the academy and bring unwanted attention to their operation. It was a double-edged sword. On one hand, my reputation provided me with a degree of safety and security. On the other, it made me an unlikely candidate for abduction, as the risks far outweighed the potential rewards.
"Alright, plan D!"
"Selling drugs?" Mari questioned
"I'm sorry, what?" Theo questioned
"Simple, I'll approach them selling illegal drugs, and I ask them to see their boss because I want them to be my supplier. We then get brought there, I anger the boss, and they kidnap us for ransom."
"Where can you find illegal drugs?"
"We can make them, aren't you one of the best healers on the planet?"
"Yes, but just simply making drugs that are legal in other nations and making them available here isn't that new, they probably make it themselves already, so why would they need us?"
"It's either we make drugs that are illegal everywhere or we'll create those drugs you're talking about with a much higher purity."
"I refuse to do the former, I do not intend to harm anyone...I'll watch you harm people when we break out, but I won't participate unless it's a very dangerous criminal."
"How will we find a place to do that?" Kai asked, "Everyone is glaring daggers at me, they'll follow me to any location that we know off."
"That's why we're going to use the academy's people and their houses."
"Don't we need the headmaster's approval for that?" Theo pointed out, "Especially since she specifically said that Boreas isn't allowed to use his student council position to take advantage of the academy."
"Can we call Chris and ask for his base?" Kai suggested, "I remember he said that he has one hidden somewhere and would stay there if he needs to investigate this nation."
"Thanks, we'll use his house to make drugs, let's go."
"No, I haven't agreed to this plan." Theo objected
"Alright, those in favor, raise their hand."
"I raised mine, but you can't see it." Jett whispered
"I have to since you're my boss." Kai said while Mari just shrugged and raised her hand as well.
"I hate every single one of you." Theo complained before turning to Kai, "Have some backbone, he's clearly a bad guy."
"You taught him and vouched for him, if anything, it's your fault." Kai replied
