A streak of victories!

The orc’s monster subjugation proceeded smoothly, without any significant obstacles.

With their enhanced mana control skills, these orcs had become even stronger, making it impossible for monsters to stand in their way.

The initial targets, goblins, and kobolds, were completely eradicated near the territory of the Blue Axe Tribe.

Additionally, five lizardman strongholds were annihilated, along with other monsters that hadn’t even established strongholds. The spoils of war overflowed, filling the village with abundant resources.

In the midst of this, the Red Drake’s roars played a crucial role.

Against weaker monsters, the victories were practically free, and even against relatively evenly matched opponents, the Red Drake proved to be a valuable asset.

In battles where a few seconds could determine victory or defeat, the Red Drake’s roars provided those crucial moments, allowing the orcs to seize every opportunity and secure victories.

The morale of the orcs soared even higher.

“Well, it seems to be enough for now. Let’s halt the monster subjugation here for the time being.”

Now that the hindrances were removed, it was time to gather their kin and strengthen their unity.

However, Karim felt the need to reward the orc tribes that had fought valiantly, just as they had surged forward as instructed.

After all, for orcs, rewards consisted of blood-soaked battles, food, and drink.

“Orcs! For your hard work, tonight we feast! Eat and drink to your heart’s content!”

“Woah!”

“Feast!”

“Let’s drink!”

There was no need to worry about food. The monsters’ corpses were scattered everywhere, and all of it was meat.

The orcs had no preferences when it came to food, and monsters were no exception.

Once again, orc warriors displayed their unparalleled butchering skills. All orc warriors were adept at handling meat. If they were to enter the human world, the meat industry would undoubtedly undergo a significant transformation.

In no time, the village was filled with the enticing aroma of cooking meat. The orcs salivated.

“It must be delicious!”

“Where’s the alcohol? Any drinks?”

“We’ve got alcohol. I’ll open up the entire storehouse!”

“Yeah! Alcohol!”

“Chief is the best!”

Karim instructed them to bring out all the alcohol from the storehouse. Soon, there was nothing left.

“Priest, I think soon we need to select a few warriors to go to the human city.”

“It’s the right time. Just as the alcohol runs out.”

They discussed matters related to the priest Kurpa and the village’s operation. After exchanging various thoughts, Karim took a sip of his drink, watching the orcs eat and drink from a distance.

“It looks good.”

The faces of the eating orcs were free from worries.

Seeing his kin rejoice filled him with joy. Every time this happened, he thought to himself that he was doing well as the chief.

“I want other tribes to experience the same joy.”

This conquest activity was no longer just his personal ambition. It was a sense of liberation for his kin, who were always exposed to the threat of death and unable to experience real battles. It was a noble sense of liberation for his unfortunate kin.

For the sake of this noble liberation, he was willing to do anything.

But there was something even more important than that.

“I must repay this favor to the lord.”

Liberating his kin and becoming a ruler was good, but above all, it was the lord who put him in this position.

If, hypothetically, the lord asked him to choose between himself and his kin, he would choose the lord. Of course, he knew that the wise lord would never force such a choice.

“Lately, the lord has recruited a new subordinate.”

The lord didn’t explicitly say anything, but Karim could instinctively sense it. Subordinate similar to him in another dimension had joined the lord’s forces.

He didn’t know who they were. However, one thing was clear: the lord’s new subordinate was also striving diligently toward his goals.

“I am the lord’s first subordinate. I cannot fall behind.”

A strange sense of competition arose in Karim’s heart. He thought he needed to work even harder than he was now.

At that moment, someone approached him. It was his father, Karik.

“Chief, you’re here.”

“Father, what’s the matter?”

“I feel something ominous.”

“Ominous?”

“A damp and oppressive feeling, like something is poking at my senses. Chief, do you feel the same way?”

Karim looked around.

The orcs in the village were still eating, drinking, and making noise.

“They don’t seem to know anything.”

“That’s right. That’s why I came to you, Chief.”

Karim nodded.

He already felt a somewhat unsettling feeling, but since it didn’t seem threatening, he had let it go.

“Well, Father. Wait here for a moment.”

Karim closed his eyes and concentrated his senses. The mana within him responded to his will and spread in all directions.

It was an expansion of his sensory perception.

Expanding and expanding, Karim soon opened his eyes.

“There’s an enemy.”

“An enemy?”

“I sense a strong enemy beyond. Mana is dark, damp, and unpleasant. It’s a very repulsive mana.”

“Huh? Son, what are you talking about?”

Karik’s expression hardened.

“I’ll be gone for a while. Father, please ensure the orc’s discipline. Keep their spirits high so that the festivities don’t break.”

The feast should end as a feast. The orcs should simply enjoy eating and drinking without worries. They just needed to store up strength for tomorrow’s march.

For that, the enemy threatening their kin must be quietly eliminated. There was never a real threat to begin with.

“It’s my son’s request.”

Seeing his son’s serious face, Karik nodded heavily.

“Go, and don’t worry about here.”

Karim walked to a place not visible to the orcs and summoned the silver wolf. Then, the silver wolf carrying Karim dashed like an arrow.

***

The common staff in the hands of the servant of darkness shattered into pieces. Mana spewed from the staff, shooting into the air.

“It will be completed soon.”

Death Field.

Dark magic that turns a certain area of land into the field of death.

Once this magic is complete, all orcs will become lifeless on the deathly ground.

Orcs will lose their vitality on the land of death and become withered like dry branches.

The black mage yawned, opening his mouth wide. It had been boring since a few hours ago when he started this nonsense.

He made quite an effort, but it didn’t feel tense at all. After all, the orcs, being insensitive to mana, would not notice. They were just strong, dumb brutes.

“Kaizen Great Forest is truly a great place. You can do things like this without getting caught.”

Humans have no interest in this place. Even if extensive dark magic is used, it won’t attract any attention.

That’s why the black mage liked Kaizen Great Forest.

In a place like this, one can do as they please.

No one will say anything even if one uses dark magic freely.

As long as you endure the threats of wild creatures lurking around, it’s like having his own world.

The 500 orcs this time are just sacrifices. Offerings to his mountain of black desires.

“Come to think of it, quite a lot of research material will accumulate. With 500 orc bones each.”

He eagerly looked forward to collecting a pile of orc bones and continued to complete the magic.

Then, suddenly, the sound of footsteps began to approach.

A sound as if something was running fast.

“What is it?”

When the identity of that thing finally came into view, the servant of darkness stiffened.

A large silver wolf filled the field of vision. An orc riding on top of it.

Descending from the wolf, the orc muttered.

“Found you. You were the one aiming for our village.”

And he drew his axe.

“Human. I sense a very ominous mana from you. Ah, I see. You’re a Dark magician.”

“Heh.”

The dark mage chuckled.

“What am I looking at right now?”

That an orc had found this place with a concealment magic array was surprising enough.

What?

An orc who doesn’t even know what mana is?

“Hehe. I’ve experienced all sorts of things in my life. Getting detected by an orc like you is just one of them.”

The black mage couldn’t see the silver wolf in his eyes.

He found the orc who was saying absurd things fascinating and pitiful.

“Human. Explain why you were trying to attack us. If not, I, Karim, the chief of the Blue Axe Tribe, will kill you.”

“Do as you please. I was already bored, so a little bit of entertainment before killing orc bastards won’t hurt.”

In an instant, Karim tightened his grip on the handle of the axe. Mana was infused, and the axe was enveloped in a blue light.

The smug expression on the dark mage face froze for a moment.

“Ora? Did you use Aura just now?”

“I don’t know. If this is a technique called Aura, then I know how to use it.”

“Oh! Interesting! An orc who knows how to use Aura!”

The servant of darkness soon lit up his eyes and raised his hand. A murky aura emerged and slowly spread, approaching Karim.

“This is interesting for research! I’ll preserve you as a specimen, especially since you’re an orc who knows how to use Aura!”

Karim charged. Breaking through the approaching murky aura, he rushed forward and swung the axe horizontally.

Boom!

Crack!

“······!”

The triple defense barrier that covered the entire body of the servant of darkness shattered, and his head flew into the sky.

Thud.

Rolling and tumbling, the head, with an expression of astonishment, stopped under a tree.

“Human dark magician. Nothing special.”

They say a magician is an incredibly powerful existence.

It didn’t seem like that at all.

Karim suddenly looked up at the sky.

Something, previously floating above the head of the servant of darkness, ascended into the sky. Like smoke drifting away.

It was the natural dispersion of mana as the magic the dark mage was casting was canceled, but Karim didn’t know that.

He just thought that the human dark magician who lost his head in the middle of some trickery was doing something.

***

Kakul looked around.

“Where’s the chief? Where is he?”

“I don’t know. Isn’t he at home?”

“The chief is not at home.”

“Then maybe he went to the toilet.”

“Really?”

Kakul smirked.

Other orcs also said they didn’t know where the chief was.

“Has he been in the toilet for so long?”

Kakul’s expression hardened.

“Oh! The chief’s butt must be blocked!”

How else could he stay in the barn for so long?

Kakul was absolutely convinced that the chief was suffering from constipation.

“Tsk tsk. Seems like the chief has a blocked butt. That’s not good.”

Kakul decided to keep this fact to himself.

I, Orc Kakul!

A man with a heavy mouth!

“Kakul. What are you talking about?”

Kakul turned around. Karim was approaching.

“Oh! Chief! There you are!”

“Blocked butt? I didn’t hear the rest.”

“Nothing. It was just nonsense.”

“But chief, there’s something on your clothes.”

Kakul slyly squinted his eyes and soon spoke.

“Is that blood? Are you hurt?”

“This? Ah, it seems like I scratched it on a tree.”

“Be more careful. Anyway, come quickly. I saved some booze for the chief.”

“Got it. I’ll be right there.”

“But chief, did you hear the rest?”

“I didn’t hear anything after ‘blocked butt.'”

“Alright. I’ll hurry. I’m hungry for meat.”

“That’s right.”

Smiling at Karim, who walked proudly into the village, Kakul chuckled.

The village was peaceful. The orcs were still laughing, eating food, and drinking. They were storing strength for the battle tomorrow.

Karim felt proud.

Nothing happened. That’s all that mattered.
