Chapter 68: “I’m afraid this is one of Mr. An’s suitors.”

The minute purchased with points quickly passed by.

With a beep, the voice from Shen Ti’s end was immediately cut off.

For some reason, upon hearing his voice, An Wujiu felt as if he were in a different world.

He left so quickly?

The words he had just spoken kept swirling in his mind. Saying he didn’t care, when in fact, An Wujiu had been worried about him from the beginning. An Wujiu felt conflicted, torn between feeling overly concerned about every word and action of Shen Ti and also thinking that he shouldn’t care so much.

What’s the point of keeping it in mind?

Too ambiguous.

Toudou Sakura leaned toward him and asked, “Do you and Shen Ti have a good relationship?”

An Wujiu’s thoughts were pulled back just as he was about to say something, and Maguire’s sarcasm chimed in.

“Who is this guy? Can’t he think straight? Why spend money to buy this?” He wore a dissatisfied expression on his face.

On the other hand, Zhou Yijue seemed interested, “He’s probably one of Mr. An’s admirers.”

He spoke slowly, emphasizing the phrase “one of.”

After the seating arrangement, he moved from the opposite side to An Wujiu’s side, turning his face sideways and keeping his eyes fixed on him.

Strangely, An Wujiu, who had always had strong control over his expressions, blushed a little at this moment.

Clearly, he hadn’t even had a sip of the punishment drink.

He opened his mouth, then paused. His expression was quite cute. Compared to his previous confident self, he now seemed a bit fiery.

“Not…” An Wujiu thought for a moment about his relationship with Shen Ti but couldn’t come up with a suitable word to describe it.

So he simply explained, “He’s someone I know.”

Wu You subconsciously pursed his lips.

But Zhou Yijue smiled.

In Holy Altar, people were afraid of nothing except revealing their vulnerabilities.

Everyone’s rhythm was interrupted by Shen Ti’s broadcast, and even the little girl named Noah was sizing up An Wujiu, her innocent and pure eyes staring at him without blinking.

An Wujiu quickly regained his composure and began considering the difficult problem Maguire had set earlier.

His dice faces were 1, 1, 2, 3, 6.

“You just called five 6s, right?”

An Wujiu thought Maguire must have been very dissatisfied with his previous loss, and this game should be his attempt to regain face. In this case, he probably preferred a situation where he would win from the start, which would showcase his superior skills and enhance the drama.

“Yeah.” Maguire raised his eyebrows and said, “I thought you were being charmed by the sweet words of that little lover named Shen something just now. Turns out, you still remember we had a bet.”

“He’s not a lover; his name is Shen Ti.” An Wujiu explained seriously, and then, without warning, he called the dice.

“Six 6s.”

An Wujiu spoke quickly, restoring the relaxed and self-assured expression he had at that moment.

“Six 6s…” Maguire rubbed the stubble on his chin, grinned, “Let’s make it seven 6s.”

Another one?

An Wujiu only had 3 sixes. If he didn’t open now, his chances of winning would be even lower.

He didn’t think much; he just raised his eyes and saw Maguire’s smug smile, his eyes full of provocation and conquest.

An Wujiu suddenly realized that Maguire was deliberate, gambling on whether he dared to continue. After all, he had moved the dice, so getting a few 6s wasn’t impossible.

In front of a cheat, odds meant nothing.

“Eight 6s,” An Wujiu smiled at him.

Since he wanted to gamble, he’d gamble with him to the end.

Even if Maguire cheated and swapped all his dice, he couldn’t accurately guess that An Wujiu only had two non-six cards.

Maguire didn’t expect that behind this seemingly cold yet beautiful face hid such a stubborn heart.

He curled his lips into a smirk, and extended his hand.

“Open.”

Wu You felt his heart in his throat.

An Wujiu’s inner calm was unusual. He extended his hand and covered the cup lid.

As he opened it, An Wujiu stared at Maguire’s hand.

At least he couldn’t move when opening the lid.

“One, two, three…” Maguire counted An Wujiu’s dice, then laughed arrogantly, “Looks like I’ve won!”

His dice faces were 1, 4, 6, 6, 6.

With a total of seven 6s on the table, An Wujiu lost.

“You’re cheating again,” Wu You coldly snorted.

Maguire looked disdainful, “Kid, which eye did you see with? Words need evidence.”

At this moment, the little girl sitting next to Maguire pointed to his dice cup and exposed him, “No, I remember, at the beginning, this uncle rolled 1, 4, 4, 5, 6. You moved two dice.”

The little girl intervened, and Maguire was both annoyed and angry. He slammed both hands on the low table, making the dice jump, “You’re talking nonsense!”

“I’m not.” The little girl faced him defiantly and said, “I remember.”

“A little ignorant kid, do you even know how to count? Nobody will believe you. Besides…” Maguire shamelessly continued, “Is there a rule here against cheating? Ask the holy voice, will it penalize me?”

Amidst the dispute, the other party appeared particularly calm.

An Wujiu had actually anticipated this.

Maguire had moved the dice from the beginning. Apart from the face showing 1, all the other faces were next to sixes. No matter which one, by flipping a die with his little finger, it would turn into a 6.

This should be simple for him.

An Wujiu wasn’t frustrated about losing to Maguire.

With Maguire’s ambush here, even if An Wujiu chose to open when he called seven 6s, he would still lose with exactly seven 6s on the table.

His heart was as calm as still water. He casually picked up a cup of punishment drink and drank it all in front of everyone’s gaze.

“Are you okay?” Wu You worried he might have issues after drinking it.

An Wujiu just shook his head lightly and smiled at Wu You, “It tastes quite good.”

Seeing the intimacy between the two, Maguire sneered, “An Wujiu, you really know how to charm men, young or old.”

Faced with such sarcasm, An Wujiu just smiled faintly, shook the wrist holding the dice cup lightly, and shook the five dice into the cup.

In Maguire’s eyes, the shaking of the snow-white wrist wrapped in gauze seemed like flirtation.

“Let’s begin,” An Wujiu smiled on his face, but his heart was cold.

The dice collided loudly, and both of them stopped simultaneously. When Maguire lifted the lid to see the dice, An Wujiu had already finished looking and was leisurely staring at him.

Strangely, Maguire happened to look up at this moment and met An Wujiu’s gaze.

An Wujiu raised an eyebrow, as if he had transformed into a different person, resting his chin on his hand and looking at Maguire. “Shouldn’t you be looking at the dice? Why are you looking at me?”

As soon as he said that, Wu You felt like a small radar deep inside his was beeping loudly.

Changed again and again.

How did he change so silently?

Maguire also stood still, furrowing his brow, feeling that something was off but unable to pinpoint what.

The demeanor of the person in front of him seemed to have changed. He had been sitting straight, exuding a stubborn and tough aura in his words and actions. But now he lazily leaned back on the sofa, his elbow resting on the armrest, staring straight at Maguire.

“What’s wrong?” An Wujiu chuckled. “Could it be that I’ve also please you?”

Maguire was stunned; his hand loosened unconsciously, and with a click, the lid fell back onto the table.

Toudou Sakura exclaimed, “Once the dice cup is released, it shouldn’t be closed again.”

An Wujiu’s smile remained on his face. “I lost in the last round, so I’ll go first.”

His dice faces were 1, 1, 2, 4, 6.

“What should I call?” An Wujiu extended his right hand, tapping the edge of the low table as if playing the piano. “Let’s call it fice 6s.”

Another five 6s.

It seemed he was going to be bitten to death here.

Zhou Yijue glanced at Maguire across from him, then turned to An Wujiu, squinting slightly.

“What about you, redhead?” An Wujiu looked at Maguire.

Maguire hadn’t expected him to call five 6s again. The rhythm from before was suddenly disrupted, and Maguire felt a bit flustered. He hadn’t thought about how to proceed or what to call next.

Calling five so quickly, could it be that he didn’t have a single 6, and intentionally provoking him?

The most taboo thing in gambling was disrupting the rhythm.

“Could it be you didn’t have time to move the dice, and there’s neither a 6 nor a 1?” An Wujiu pretended to be surprised. “How troublesome. Could it be that I’ve called my own death as soon as I opened my mouth?”

Maguire furrowed his brow tightly, his eyes hiding suppressed anger. “Shut up.”

“So fierce.” An Wujiu laughed. “No rush; take your time.”

When An Wujiu remarked on Maguire being fierce, Wu You suddenly had a hallucination, feeling like she saw Shen Ti’s tea mist in the tea.

In fact, Maguire indeed didn’t have time to move the dice, so his roll for this round wasn’t good.

His dice faces were 1, 2, 3, 4, 6.

His eyes glanced in An Wujiu’s direction, but not directly at him but at another person.

Zhou Yijue’s gaze subtly met his, and at the same time, he lightly tapped the cup twice with his finger.

Maguire understood, and now having an idea, the rhythm that was disrupted earlier naturally returned.

Calling for five 6s, including his own, wasn’t precisely five 6s.

Fortunately, An Wujiu didn’t open immediately.

He couldn’t help but want to laugh. With just this little cleverness, he still wanted to show off in front of someone as experienced in the gambling scene as himself? It would be quicker to sacrifice appearance.

Since he wanted to play, he might as well play along with him.

“Five 6s might not be enough,” Maguire smiled, “How about six 6s?”

An Wujiu’s expression changed, the smile disappearing from his face.

Maguire felt triumphant. He had three dice in his hand, and if he needed to add three more, it wouldn’t be difficult. Now, An Wujiu must be in a dilemma.

“Why so silent? Are you in or out?”

Maguire had already decided that if An Wujiu opened here, he would subtly manipulate the dice when opening the cup. It was simple; he just needed to press one side of the 4 to turn it into a 6, and then he’d have three 6s.

But perhaps he wouldn’t even need this move. With Zhou Yijue’s cooperation, he had known since the second round how many dice An Wujiu had called, while An Wujiu seemed clueless about his dice.

How to win?

An Wujiu hesitated, looking at the dice cup on the low table, furrowing his brow in thought.

“To open or not?” He raised his eyes, holding the dice cup, and glared at Maguire.

Suddenly, he blurted out an unrelated question.

“Oh, by the way, how is your wife’s health?”

Maguire’s pupils constricted.

What?

How could he know?

That’s impossible; Maguire was sure he had never seen this person before.

An Wujiu smiled, then redirected back to the game, “Let’s open.”

Maguire suddenly realized this and opened the cup, revealing the six 6s he had called.

So Maguire immediately grabbed the cup, his little finger firmly pressed against the edge, and with his skilled cheating technique, he changed his 4 to a 6.

His heart was racing; no gambling round had ever been like this.

He picked up the cup and naturally slid one of his 1s and two 6s together.

“I have three.”

An Wujiu nodded and uncovered his own cup.

“What…” Maguire’s eyes widened in disbelief.

Wu You looked over, and An Wujiu’s five dice were 1, 2, 2, 4, 6.

No, weren’t there two 1’s before?

One of them changed to 2.

When did he do that?

Wu You turned his face toward An Wujiu.

Toudou Sakura clapped her hands and said with a smile, “There are only five 6s on the table.”

“Sorry, you lost,” An Wujiu smiled and pushed the drink filled with golden liquid in front of Maguire.

Maguire stared at An Wujiu’s dice faces, unable to accept that his easily attainable victory was snatched away. “You cheated! It wasn’t like that at all!”

“What was it like, then?” An Wujiu sneered, “Did I also have three 6s? Is that it?”

After saying that, he turned his head and looked at Zhou Yijue. “Mr. Zhou, what do you think?”

Seeing him like this, Zhou Yijue smiled and clapped his hands slowly twice.

“Well played.”

The holy voice ignored Maguire’s protests and announced the results.

“The winning player in this round is An Wujiu. Congratulations on gaining voting rights and a special reward.”

“What reward?” Toudou Sakura curiously asked.

The holy voice replied, “You will find out during the formal game.”

An image suddenly appeared in front of An Wujiu’s eyes, and upon confirmation, he found that only he could see it.

[Please make a selection from the following options. Your choice will determine the format and rules of the formal game. Please choose carefully:

1. Individual battle, 2. Two-person team battle (freely formed groups), 3. Multi-person team battle (freely formed groups)]

An Wujiu didn’t hesitate and chose option 3.

He didn’t know if there would be a tie, but he trusted Shen Ti. They should be in tune with each other, and he would choose option 3.

[Selection completed; thank you for your cooperation.]

The door of the room they were in suddenly opened automatically. Through the constantly unfolding door crack, they could catch a glimpse of the luxurious decoration of this game room, crystal chandeliers, gilded pillars, and even the handrails of the corridor facing them were inlaid with gemstones.

“Players who have finished the warm-up round, please enter the first-floor lobby of the luxury airship and wait for the remaining players.”

Following the instructions, An Wujiu stood up and walked out with Wu You. But they hadn’t walked for long before Zhou Yijue followed.

“When did you find out that we were colluding?”

He asked without any shame.

An Wujiu didn’t even look at him, looking straight ahead. “I realized it when the second round was rigged.”

Wu You only realized when An Wujiu spoke that he didn’t seem to have changed. Was that extreme attitude just an act?

It seemed like his extreme demeanor had gradually blended in without him noticing.

Just as they were about to turn the corner and go down the stairs, a shadow suddenly flashed in front of them, and it immediately knocked An Wujiu beside him.

Wu You was startled at first, then…

He just wanted to roll his eyes.

Thankfully, there was a carpet underneath.

“Ah… An Wujiu…”

Before he could react, Shen Ti had just pushed An Wujiu down, pressing on him, making him unable to breathe properly, and unable to push him away. “Hey, get up…”

“I’m drunk, I can’t get up.” Shen Ti hugged him, rubbed his neck a few times, and then lifted his head. His hair was all messy, and he smiled at him.

“An Wujiu, you have so many stars on your face.”
