“How delicious this is!”

Its blue carapace and massive pincers might have looked more formidable than any coconut crab she knew, but its shape was unmistakably that of a coconut crab. The size was so enormous that she couldn’t help but laugh.

“How much meat will it yield?”

Crustaceans were not absent because they were inedible; they were one of Sylvia’s favorite foods.

Even just eating the meat was delicious, and it was delicious even when baked with plenty of cheese, and it was delicious even when eaten raw as sashimi, muttered Sylvia quickly and quietly, as Felix looked at her with a bewildered expression and asked.

“Are you going to eat this? Are you crazy?”

To his eyes, it definitely seemed madness to want to eat something that appeared to be nothing but a beast!

“No way! Do you want to get sick?”

Facing his strong opposition, Sylvia started to quickly steam the coconut crab she had caught with the magic of fire, water, and wind. Felix’s mouth fell open as he saw the coconut crab in the air changing color as steam billowed from it.

“It’s changing color?”

The shell, which had been blue, turned very red. Just the change in color made it look delicious, as she had said. He crossed his arms and stood right next to Sylvia, watching the process of change.

Sylvia twirled the coconut crab around, steaming it evenly. Because it was not of ordinary size, it took quite some time just to steam. Finally, she divided the fully cooked coconut crab into parts. She first popped off the part containing the innards and removed the upper shell.

As the golden innards were revealed, a nutty aroma spread.

However, Felix’s expression completely soured. The sight of the wriggling innards, even for someone who beats monsters, did not seem to be pleasant. Sylvia burst into a sneer at his appearance.

“Are you going to eat that?”

Felix asked with a look of incomprehension.

Without answering, Sylvia used wind magic to cut off the pincer legs of the coconut crab and extracted only the meat. Since it was not of ordinary size, the revealed meat was as big as her own torso. Saliva flowed involuntarily.

She had not had the luxury of eating crustaceans even when money was scarce. She grabbed the floating meat with her hands and tore it apart. Being large, the torn texture was wide. She cut it into bite-sized pieces with wind magic and immediately put it in her mouth.

“Wow!”

“You again!”

Felix watched Sylvia’s actions and exclaimed in surprise, startled. She was gobbling down anything again. Even if the color changed while cooking, to eat a creature presumed to be a beast so carelessly… it really made him unable to take his eyes off.

“What will you do if you eat something unknown?”

Sylvia glanced at Felix, who came over and nagged, and shoved a piece of the coconut crab’s meat into his open mouth.

Chewing the food that entered his mouth without thinking, Felix’s eyes widened. His eyelids fluttered slowly, and then he swallowed.

“What!”

He looked as if he was thinking, ‘How can there be such a flavor?’ With a triumphant expression, Sylvia asked him.

“Tasty, isn’t it?”

Felix nodded vigorously in response to her question. It was a new texture and taste. It was chewy but smooth to swallow. And the flavor was so nutty and sweet, it was really delicious.

Sylvia cut more meat and put it in her mouth again. This time, Felix eagerly chewed thoroughly. Looking proud, Sylvia also diligently put meat in her mouth.

Having the chance to eat that coconut crab she had only seen on broadcasts during the holidays, the author of the novel must definitely know how to enjoy food.

‘Thinking I doubted their taste when they combined rockfish with mustard and soy sauce… I need to change my mind! This author definitely knows how to enjoy food!’

Vigorously nodding, Sylvia diligently cut the meat. This time, she dipped the golden innards and put them in her mouth.

“Uh-huh!”

A snorting sound naturally escaped.

The innards were really nutty. The bland meat met with oil, and the nuttiness doubled. Watching Sylvia squatting down and dipping the innards to eat, Felix hesitantly sat down beside her.

The meat he just ate was really delicious, but dipping it in those grotesque-looking innards, he just couldn’t understand.

“Do I have to eat that?”

He wished Sylvia wouldn’t eat it either. He was worried about what would happen if she got sick from eating it.

“It’s really delicious! Don’t you want to eat? If you feel disgusted, you don’t have to eat it.”

He had heard that the reason why people who dislike dishes like tripe or innards is mostly because of their appearance.

Of course, Sylvia was among those who couldn’t afford to buy tripe to eat…

“Don’t you eat it either.”

He grabbed Sylvia’s wrist, which kept dipping the innards and putting them in her mouth, and stopped her. Sylvia said with a puckered expression,

“Ah!”

At her exclamation of “Ah!”, almost brainwashed by now, Felix reflexively opened his mouth wide. Sylvia dipped the innards and put a piece of meat into his mouth.

“Hey!”

As the nuttiness spread in his mouth along with his exclamation, his eyes widened in surprise. Watching his expression change, Sylvia asked,

“Should I not eat more?”

Though he realized it was a question asked knowingly, Felix couldn’t affirm.

Because the taste was incredible!

He had never thought such a flavor could exist in the world.

What kind of taste was this?

How could there be such nuttiness?

His expression gradually shifted from ecstasy to puzzlement.

Sylvia diligently cut the meat, dipped it in the innards, and alternated between feeding herself and Felix. Both of them, being quite the food enthusiasts, demolished the coconut crab, which was twice the size of a chicken in this area.

Rubbing her full belly, Sylvia smiled brightly.

“Ah, it really is delicious. I never knew there was such a thing as a coconut crab in the world.”

Looking at her lying back in satisfaction, Felix also lay down on the grass.

And he asked,

“How do you know the names of all these creatures I’m seeing for the first time?”

It was something he had always wondered.

Sylvia’s lips snapped shut. To explain this, she would have to say that this place was originally inside a novel, but that was something she could never tell.

As she was rolling her eyes, trying to come up with an answer, Felix propped himself up and stretched his arm over her ear. Lying down and looking at the sky, Sylvia was surprised by his beautiful face blocking hers and her eyes widened.

Felix squinted his eyes and asked,

“You said before that you were brought here by Eryngium, right?”

The question was so direct and unexpected that Sylvia inhaled sharply in surprise. Watching her with dilated turquoise pupils, Felix asked,

“Sylvia… are you a traveler between dimensions?”

He brought up the question he had always suspected.

Felix had thought that she might be a dimensional traveler. Anyone else might have dismissed such a tale as fanciful, but not him.

In places only the descendants of the Black Dragon could enter, there existed a variety of magical texts. Among them was magic for traveling between dimensions, but the magic circle was so vast and complex that it was not practically feasible.

It was merely recorded as an example that such magic exists. He had asked the Black Dragon directly on several occasions and received answers.

The Black Dragon had said,

[The magic is not for humans to use.]

Does that mean dragons could use it?

If dragons could, then the possibility that Sylvia, brought by Eryngium, was a traveler from another dimension… made sense.

Sylvia regained her composure, her heart pounding. Her face was reflected in his dark pupils, too close for comfort.

With a trembling heart, she quietly opened her lips,

“…Yes, it seems so.”

Unable to tell a lie, she affirmed only the parts that were true. It might well be a case of dimension travel, but the exact situation was that she had possessed a character in a novel! …Such honesty was impossible to share.

Sylvia, who had nodded gently in response, turned her head to the side as Felix’s face was too close, exposing her reddened ears. Felix watched her small, adorable ears for a moment before sitting up.

He felt a strange warmth at the nape of his neck.

“Ahem!”

He coughed unnecessarily and rubbed the back of his neck, then began to speak as if nothing was amiss.

“I don’t know if you’re aware, but you and I share the same type of magic. But why didn’t Eryngium inform me of such an important fact?”

Upon reflection, he felt quite aggrieved.

Although the fairy was never particularly obedient to him, still, to not disclose such crucial information… Felix slightly gritted his teeth. He contemplated reprimanding the fairy for the first time in a while… when Sylvia quickly added,

“I told her not to tell!”

Surprised by her unexpected admission, Felix turned his head back to look at her lying down. Sylvia continued without directly looking at him,

“Think about it! If I suddenly said, ‘I am a person who has traveled dimensions,’ would you have simply believed me, saying, ‘Ah, is that so?’ No, not just you, but everyone would have reacted the same way. That’s why I told her not to say anything. I didn’t want to be treated like a weirdo from the start.”

Hearing her explanation, it seemed plausible to him. Felix awkwardly fiddled with his nape.

“Yeah, you seem to be right.”

Feeling the atmosphere becoming slightly awkward, Sylvia abruptly stood up.

“We should take a look at the lake. We need to check if there’s anything else and survey the surroundings.”

As she started to walk off on her own, Felix quickly followed her and said,

“Let’s go together!”

She always acted as if she wanted to do everything by herself.

It was worrisome.

Sylvia rolled her eyes and retorted,

“Can you move a bit faster?”

As if to say, just keep up without complaining.

The briefly awkward atmosphere quickly cycled through, and despite grumbling, they both smiled as they headed toward the emerald-colored lake.
