Hours pass and I manage to complete my work without major issues, thanks to the occasional boost from my stamina replenishment trick and a few cups of coffee.

Afterwards, I prepare for tomorrow's entry into the war zone. Of course, tonight I'll sleep like a baby to make up for the lost sleep. I might be a superhuman, but I still enjoy sleeping, even if it doesn't seem like I need it much. Still, sleep is when DNA repairs and memories are organized, so I'll keep doing it.

The next day, I enter the war zone, but things feel a bit tense. Sensing the change in the atmosphere, my first thought is that stronger lorgs have appeared. So, I use my senses and techniques to scout the surroundings, but contrary to my expectations, I only find normal lorgs—at least according to their energy.

Theorizing that they might be different but not showing it through their energy, I decide to approach stealthily in case they are quite strong. However, once I get there, they don’t seem different—neither visually nor behaviorally.

So, I decide to conduct one last test. Taking my bow, I decide to shoot a normal arrow, and as expected, the normal lorg falls after the arrow hits its head, realizing that this is just a normal lorg. Therefore, I decide to continue my routine of destroying resurrection points.

I head to the nearest resurrection point, but since I’ve destroyed all the nearby resurrection points around my hideout, I have to advance for a long time.

After arriving, I repeat the same sequence: attacking once or twice with explosive arrows at nearby lorgs, then continuing with normal arrows until the lorgs get close and then engaging them in melee combat.

Initially, it’s quite easy, but suddenly something changes my mind. In the distance, I sense energy a bit stronger than that of a normal lorg. Not only that, but it feels like sacred energy. After clearing the path of interfering lorgs, I decide to approach cautiously.

I find a group of 17 lorgs and see one that appears to be a white reptile, likely part of the stronger lorgs that have been appearing. Deciding to eliminate it first, I position myself for an optimal shot. From what I can tell, this lorg doesn’t have better senses than a detection lorg.

Even detection lorgs can’t pinpoint me accurately when I combine my stealth technique with my hood and cloak. Just to be sure, I decide to use explosive arrows and aim at its chest, in case it’s faster than a stealth lorg or has a comparable or better defense than an alpha lorg.

The arrow flies at great speed, hitting its target and exploding, leaving a massive hole in the lorg, killing it instantly.

[YOU HAVE KILLED A LORG. COINS: +20]

It didn’t seem stronger, but it gives more coins, indicating that its strength might indeed be higher. Perhaps it didn’t have time to react or defend due to the ambush. At least it doesn’t have better defense than the alpha lorg, as the latter can withstand explosive arrows without taking much damage.

After that, I easily kill the rest of the lorgs. Even though there are 15 of them, my stats are so high that even if they manage to attack me, I won’t sustain critical injuries. Not to mention, my regeneration remains absurdly fast.

Thinking about it for a moment, I realize this new type of lorg appeared only when I approached the resurrection point, an area swarming with thousands of lorgs and housing the strongest ones.

It could be that these new lorgs only reside around resurrection points. Gaining confidence from easily killing this new lorg, I decide to continue with my plan to destroy resurrection points.

Continuing my journey, after encountering a few groups of lorgs, I find another group with one of these new lorgs. This time, it’s a group of 23, including two stealth lorgs. I decide to eliminate the stealth ones first since their agility is really troublesome. The new lorg doesn’t seem like a significant problem.

After getting close and taking aim, I take down one of the stealth lorgs, while the other moves quickly. Though the explosive arrow causes substantial damage, it doesn’t kill it. Seeing it approaching, I prepare for close combat. At that moment, just as I thought it would be a routine fight, an energy envelops the stealth lorg, healing its wounds and then significantly boosting its speed.

Sensing the speed increase, I activate my techniques to strengthen myself. Thanks to this, I manage to face it, but things get complicated when not only do its wounds keep healing, but the rest of the lorgs attack me with much greater speed and strength than usual.

The battle continues as I receive wound after wound, but I can feel the tide turning. My relentless attacks begin to thin their numbers, and finally, after what seems like an eternity, I manage to defeat the penultimate lorg.

Realizing that the only one left is the new lorg, I quickly attack, but it creates a surprisingly tough energy shield. Despite this, its attacks are both slow and weak, so I dodge or block them while continuing to try breaking the shield. After a few seconds, the shield breaks, and I kill it with a blow to the head with my axe.

Reflecting on the unusual fight, I realize it was likely due to the new lorg. Although it’s not strong, it seems to have the role of supporting and enhancing the other lorgs, making battles much more challenging.

For a moment, I think about whether this could benefit me. After all, killing stronger lorgs gets me more coins and levels me up faster, but I notice the system notifications indicating that the amount of coins didn’t increase, and probably the leveling speed didn’t either.

After that, I decide to kill the new type of lorg first to avoid complications in battle. Luckily, this seems easy as long as I catch them off guard, since their defense depends on their shield, and while it’s not activated, they are easy to kill.

Realizing that this new type of lorg doesn’t have a name, or at least I don’t know its name, and since Emily probably knows its name, I decide to call it a buffer lorg, hoping that my future self gave it the same name.
