With my new technique, I continued towards the gate. As expected, the closer I got, the more of these insectoid Lorgs, which I decided to call Executioner Lorgs, appeared.

Unfortunately, there came a moment when I couldn't kill the Buff Lorgs, so I had to face the enhanced Executioner Lorgs. This was not only difficult but extremely challenging. I decided to stick to the same strategy: kill all the Lorgs, or at least try to, while waiting for the Buff Lorgs to run out of energy, then finish off the Executioner Lorgs using counterattacks.

The first enhanced Executioner Lorg came at me with blinding speed, its enormous blades slicing through the air with a greenish glow. It attacked with incredible force. Though the blades barely left scratches, it was surprising considering my current defense, but nothing special given my regeneration.

I countered with a quick strike, but the Executioner Lorg dodged with astounding agility, landing a blow on my side. The wound, though superficial, stung. But my regeneration was already at work, healing the scratch almost as soon as it was made.

Two more Executioner Lorgs joined the fray, each enhanced by the lingering aura of a nearby Buff Lorg. Their attacks were relentless, their movements a blur. I found myself surrounded, their blades a whirlwind of death. Yet, despite their speed and enhanced strength, they struggled to breach my defenses.

The fight continued in this manner for a long time. Fortunately, it seemed that the Buff Lorgs had finally run out of energy and that their enhancements would soon disappear. I prepared to counterattack the Executioner Lorgs once more, this time with Wave of Light, and as soon as they launched their next attack.

I unleashed Wave of Light. A radiant shockwave burst forth, engulfing the Executioner Lorgs. The sacred energy seared through their defenses, causing them to shriek in pain as the purifying light disintegrated parts of their insectoid bodies. The regular Lorgs around me disintegrated instantly, but the Executioner Lorgs, though wounded, pressed on.

One of them managed to land a blow on my back, the blades digging in slightly before my regeneration kicked in, knitting the flesh back together almost immediately. Another grazed my arm, but the wound closed just as quickly.

Realizing they couldn't defeat me through sheer strength, the Executioner Lorgs changed tactics. They began to coordinate their attacks, one distracting while the others aimed for vulnerable spots. Despite their efforts, my defenses and regenerative abilities kept me in the fight.

With each passing moment, my counterattacks grew more precise. I took advantage of their predictable patterns, landing blows that chipped away at their enhanced bodies. Another Wave of Light tore through them, reducing their numbers further.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity of dodging and striking, the last Executioner Lorg fell. Its body, riddled with wounds and weakened by my sacred energy, collapsed in a heap.

The only thing left was to kill the two remaining Buff Lorgs, which wasn't difficult considering they no longer had any sacred energy. After several hours of fighting, I managed to destroy another gate. But this didn't give me a sense of achievement or tranquility, seeing how even close to the outskirts of the city, stronger and more numerous Lorgs were already appearing. The whole city must be in a critical situation.

Since I had already taken care of the gates in the direction of the bunker, I decided it was time to meet up with Emily.

"Emily, I'm ready to meet up with you. Where are you?"

"We're in the tourist zone."

"...Okay, it will take me some time to get there since I'm on the other side of the city."

"...Okay, come as soon as possible."

With a sigh of resignation, I planned my route. Considering the number of gates along a direct path and how slow it was to close them, I decided it would be faster to go around the city where there were fewer gates.

Although the route was much longer, due to my speed, it was much quicker to run long distances than to fight many Lorgs over a short distance.

Knowing I couldn't waste time, I began to skirt the city. Of course, I decided to do this from the outskirts to fight fewer Lorgs. Along the way, I encountered many gates, but since there weren't many Executioner Lorgs, I could destroy them relatively easily, especially now that I had a technique that harnessed the energy I absorbed from the Buff Lorgs.

Reaching the outskirts on the other side of the city took me five hours without rest, but as usual, I wasn't tired. Now the problem was that the tourist zone was a bit inside the city. Fortunately, it seemed that aside from the gates near the city's outskirts, the gates surrounding the tourist zone had been destroyed.

With another sigh of resignation, I started heading towards the tourist zone. After a few more gates, I began to encounter Executioner Lorgs again, but it wasn't too bad, at least not until I came across another new type of Lorg. This time, I had to fight it since there were five Buff Lorgs in the same group.

This new type of Lorg was large and robust, its whole body covered in scales and shaped strangely, almost like a pangolin that had grown and taken on a more humanoid appearance.

I started the fight as usual, hiding and shooting explosive arrows at the Buff Lorgs, aiming to kill as many as possible. Of course, I could only kill two before the Executioner Lorgs got close enough to me.

I continued the fight as always, finishing off as many regular Lorgs as I could, absorbing the sacred energy from the Buff Lorgs, and waiting for the right moment to counterattack the Executioner Lorgs. Surprisingly, this new type of Lorg didn't move, so I stopped worrying about it until it decided to move.

In one of the Executioner Lorgs' attacks, I saw an opportunity to counterattack and used Wave of Light, but at that precise moment, the new type of Lorg moved. It curled up into a ball and rolled towards me. Before the wave of light could expand, it was blocked by this new Lorg, barely impacting the Executioner Lorg. Not only that, but this new Lorg kept rolling towards me. Due to its size and speed, I couldn't dodge it, and it ran over me.

The next second, I was on the ground, as if a steamroller had passed over me. As I tried to get up, the Executioner Lorgs and the regular Lorgs attacked me, making it difficult for me to recover. In frustration, I couldn't help but shout,

"Emily, why did you have to make everything more difficult?!"

---

The fight was intense. The new Lorg, which I decided to call the Armored Lorg, had a nearly impenetrable defense. Its scales deflected my attacks, and my melee strikes seemed to bounce off its thick hide. To make matters worse, it could curl into a ball and roll at incredible speeds, turning itself into a living wrecking ball that barreled through anything in its path.

As the Armored Lorg rolled towards me, I dodged just in time, feeling the rush of air as it passed by. I quickly countered with a strike to its exposed back as it uncurled, but my blade barely left a mark. The other Lorgs didn't stay still either, making the battle even more exhausting.

The Executioner Lorgs, enhanced by the remaining Buff Lorgs, attacked relentlessly, their blades a whirlwind of death around me. It was only after two hours that finally the Buff Lorgs stopped enhancing and healing the Lorgs, making things easier.

I unleashed another Wave of Light, this time in the opposite direction of the Armored Lorg, ensuring it couldn't block it. The sacred energy burned the remaining regular Lorgs, making the fight even less troublesome.

After that, I continued trying to attack the Executioner Lorgs. I knew the Armored Lorg's fighting style was to block my attacks and try to run me over, so this time I made sure to feint counterattacking the Executioner Lorgs. When the Armored Lorg moved to block, I focused my attack on it, unleashing an Wave of Light directly at it.

Luckily, its defense wasn't as formidable without the Buff Lorgs' enhancements, causing its perfectly aligned scales to break, emitting a deep, guttural growl. But even this powerful attack only seemed to slow it down.

Seeing that a direct approach wasn't working, I changed tactics. I lured the Armored Lorg into charging at me, then dodged at the last second, causing it to crash into the ruins of a building. While it was momentarily stunned, I continued attacking the Executioner Lorgs.

With the Buff Lorgs out of the picture, the Executioner Lorgs were no longer enhanced, making them easier to deal with. One by one, they fell to my relentless assaults, leaving only the Armored Lorg.

Despite its incredible defense, the constant barrage of my attacks and the sacred energy from Wave of Light began to take its toll. The Armored Lorg's movements became slower, its attacks less coordinated. Finally, with a powerful strike, I managed to pierce its thick scales and deliver a fatal blow.

The Armored Lorg let out a final roar before collapsing, its body succumbing to the accumulated damage and the energy of Wave of Light.

With the immediate threat neutralized, I continued towards the tourist zone, realizing the situation was as bad as it initially seemed, or even worse.
