"The nature of your serpent dragon kind, as recorded in the legacy of dragons, seems rather understated."

"That you have survived until now is quite astonishing," Garon remarked, shaking his head slightly as he looked at the Cold Forest Serpent Dragon with a faint voice.

The Cold Forest Serpent Dragon, full of malice, stared back at Garon intently and spat out, "What I despise most are you so-called noble dragons, full of superiority. Die!"

True dragons do not acknowledge serpent dragons as their kind, considering them inferior and ignorant, which naturally does not endear them to the serpent dragons.

Without further ado, the Cold Forest Serpent Dragon opened its toxin-laden jaws wide, took a deep breath, and violently exhaled towards Garon.

Whoosh!

A visible cloud of steam mixed with fine, barely visible sparks of electricity enveloped Garon.

The breath of the Cold Forest Serpent Dragon, a misty, electrified exhalation, combined high heat and electrical power. The serpent dragon's inherent abilities weaken an enemy's resistance to the same attributes.

As the electric mist appeared, the surrounding air carried a burning, paralyzing sensation, and a crackling sound grew within the mist.

Facing the serpent dragon's breath, Garon chose not to take it head-on.

His body accelerated to the right, moving with almost teleportation-like speed.

The electric mist passed through Garon's afterimage and hit the ground, erupting into a series of dazzling, thunderous flashes.

Not having made direct contact, the Cold Forest Serpent Dragon quickly moved its long body in a sinuous flight, approaching Garon from above and continuing to unleash its electric mist while turning its neck to track Garon's movements.

Garon smiled slightly and said, "If you can hit me even once, I'll personally see you out of my territory."

This remark seemed to belittle the serpent dragon, making it even more irritable and intensifying its breath attack.

At the same time, Garon's gaze hardened, and he cast a slowing spell on the Cold Forest Serpent Dragon. Unbeknownst to it, its movements became slow and cumbersome, like a slow-motion playback.

With Garon maintaining his speed, the contrast between their movements made the serpent dragon seem like a mere illusion to Garon, who appeared almost invisible to it.

The serpent dragon possessed an ability known as True Sight, a divination-like spell that can see through illusions and detect weaknesses in spells. It had thought Garon might be using some illusion, but even with True Sight activated, it was powerless against the current predicament.

After futilely chasing Garon's afterimages and spraying its breath for several seconds, the surrounding ground had turned into scorched earth.

The Cold Forest Serpent Dragon, its throat dry and painful, panting heavily, ceased its breath.

On the other side, Garon stabilized his body with a flap of his wings, looking calmly at the serpent dragon.

The serpent dragon, irritated, swished its tail and turned its gaze towards Garon's followers, saying, "I wonder if your followers are as fast as you!"

With a roar, the serpent dragon, no longer engaging directly with Garon, began to surge towards Garon's followers, intending to attack them.

Seeing this, Garon's expression remained unchanged, and his body transformed into a straight silver line as he quickly intercepted the serpent dragon on the side.

The serpent dragon, startled, instinctively lunged with its head, snapping its jaws towards Garon.

The serpent dragon's fangs and claws, laden with deadly poison, are among its most potent weapons.

However, to Garon, the serpent dragon's movements were as slow as if in replay, and it stood no chance of biting him.

With a sweep of his broad wings, Garon slapped the serpent dragon's head to the side, bending its upper body and involuntarily rolling it along the ground. The serpent dragon tumbled over a dozen times, crushing a large amount of icy rubble before it finally came to a stop.

"Did I say you could leave?" Garon spoke calmly.

On the other side, after the serpent dragon steadied itself, it shook its dazed head a few times and then glared at Garon, breathing out a foul stench and roaring, "I'll tear you apart!"

Boom!

Its claws shattered the ground, and its elongated body, like an arrow released from a bow, charged at Garon again.

For such a fierce and aggressive character, its combative nature needed to be subdued before any real communication could occur.

Garon watched the Cold Forest Serpent Dragon, filled with malice, and thought of a way to calm it down a bit.

He stood his ground, a mysterious smile on his face, waiting for the serpent dragon to approach.

Despite its violent nature, a creature capable of learning three languages couldn't be entirely foolish. The serpent dragon eyed the unmoving Garon

with a hint of suspicion in its dark pupils.

However, the serpent dragon didn't overthink it. It extended its sharp claws, creating a fierce sound of air being sliced, and swiped at Garon's neck.

If the attack landed, it would have caused severe damage.

In an instant, the serpent dragon's claw came within just a few meters of Garon.

For two massive creatures, this distance was almost face-to-face.

The serpent dragon didn't understand why Garon wasn't defending or counterattacking, but this didn't stop it from showing excitement at the prospect of injuring Garon.

But in the next moment, the world seemed to pause. The serpent dragon felt as if its vision blurred, and suddenly, the scenery changed.

It found itself back at its starting position, still poised to strike.

However, Garon was not in front of it.

Looking at the silver dragon not far away, the serpent dragon shook its head and blinked several times.

"Huh? What happened? Was it just my imagination?"

"Did I actually not move at all?"

The serpent dragon was confused about what had just happened.

Being a serpent dragon with True Sight, it typically had an acutely sharp reaction to combat situations, but what had just occurred was beyond its comprehension.

Deciding not to dwell on it, the serpent dragon charged at Garon again.

This time, it opened its jaws wide, intending to bite the silver dragon close at hand.

But suddenly, it found itself back at the starting point again, and the mysterious and eerie silver dragon was quietly watching it, a slight smile on his face, as if enjoying its predicament.

Enraged, the serpent dragon roared and charged at Garon again.

It also kept a vigilant eye this time, constantly scanning its surroundings.

But the outcome was the same; even without blinking, it found itself back at the starting point again.

"Damn it, what spell did you use?"

Garon just smiled faintly, offering no reply.

The serpent dragon realized that the strange occurrences were the work of the silver dragon in front of it and was furious, unwilling to give up its assault.

It now had some energy back, clearly able to attack from a distance with its breath, but driven by disbelief, it kept confronting Garon directly.

However, its anger did not help it solve the mystery of time manipulation. Several attempts to mobilize all its strength to attack, only to find itself back at the starting point at the crucial moment, happened repeatedly.

After several bizarre and unsettling occurrences, the serpent dragon's spirit became somewhat dazed, and the fiery malice in its eyes faded considerably.

It stared at Garon, looking around uncertainly, its tail sweeping unconsciously, hesitating for a moment.
