Chapter 81- Divine Melody

Leng Shuju was a cyber police officer on the interstellar live streaming platform. His daily job involves handling data anomalies in live streams and apprehending broadcasters who violate federal laws.

The live streaming industry is not as calm as it appears on the surface. The largest live streaming platform on the entire web is the Federated Investment, which captures 98% of users, leaving the remaining 1% of users divided among a dozen or so privately funded streaming platforms.

Then there’s the last 1% of users, who perhaps by chance or through certain channels, have entered another mysterious live streaming website. The vast majority of people will never know the entrance, name, or content of that streaming site.

This was a kind of luck.

Many times, Leng Shuju would feel that ignorance was a kind of luck. If it weren’t for that year when he discovered a mysterious password on a wanted criminal he was dealing with, and if it weren’t for his curiosity that led him to spend ten days deciphering the password, he would not have entered that website, nor would he have seen those inhumane things.

He wouldn’t have left the promising Star Annihilation Team to become an insignificant cyber police officer. Despite his duty being to maintain cyber security and contribute his meager efforts to the vast Tianwang network, he had to let the man-eating sharks lurk in the deep sea.

In the calm river of data, a small change suddenly brought Leng Shuju’s thoughts back to reality. He frowned and looked at a live stream room in the live streaming platform where the popularity suddenly surged, suspecting that this unusually high traffic increase might be due to some illegal means.

A new user had just posted a work less than twenty minutes ago, and the DJ had already reached an almost impossible twenty billion, and this DJ count was still rising steadily. The comments were doubling every minute –

“Marshal Xi’s sightseeing group is here to check in.”

“I’m watching my rival on Lemon Mountain. I want to see which little fairy stole the heart of the male god.”

“Ahhhh, I’m going crazy. What divine melody is this?!”

“It’s a voice kissed by an angel!”

“Damn, damn, I’m crying because of this beautiful voice.”

“Is this children’s literature? Or is it a real story adaptation? I really want to see what the swan beastman looks like!”

“What an auditory feast! I’m full of this divine voice in my mind. I feel like I’m going to have a beautiful dream tonight.”

“Sob sob, it turns out the person the male god likes is also a male god. I’m not worthy. I’m out.”

The comments were scrolling too fast, but Leng Shuju caught the keyword “Marshal Xi”. Seeing Xi Guican’s name, Leng Shuju suddenly remembered seventeen years ago, when he was still a passionate newcomer in the Star Annihilation Team.

At dawn, he saw the “monster” sitting on the ruins, covered in blood.

It was indeed a monster, a huge monster in blood red. When the tardy Star Annihilation Team arrived, the monster raised its head, its shattered silver-white insect wings slowly spreading, coincidentally covering the rising sun.

Leng Shuju’s gaze collided with those tiger pupils he could never forget, the ice-blue pupils tainted with red blood, like fire breaking through the ice, carrying a merciless killing intent that pierced sharply into his mind.

To the man later known as the Blade of the Federation, Leng Shuju initially thought he had encountered a demon crawling out of hell.

Later, when he returned to the military base after completing a mission, he found the head of the Intelligence Department in a rage. It turned out that those responsible for monitoring Xi Guican had all had their eyes gouged out.

Such behavior would have landed anyone else in military court. However, Xi Guican was different; he was a special existence, a “monster” capable of single-handedly destroying the Reaper and the Sea Star Orphanage.

If this kind of monster could be utilized properly, it would be the sharpest blade for harvesting the lives of the Zerg in the Star Wars.

So, the Federation had a private agreement with this monster, granting him many privileges.

Oh, at that time, Xi Guican was not yet called Xi Guican; he had no name, only a code. It was said that when he signed the agreement with the Federation, he jokingly signed as “20.”

Later on, Leng Shuju heard that the Federation sent Xi Guican to the Federation Military Academy because this monster was too difficult to control. For a while, no one dared to send him directly to the front lines.

Otherwise, like a bomb, he might not only hurt the Zerg but also the Federation itself.

It was said that the incident where Xi Guican had challenged the authority of the Intelligence Department had always been resented by the person in charge. And the incident where Xi Guican’s wings were broken also had something to do with that person.

But who really knew the truth behind these incidents?

Leng Shuju still remembered that night when he was traveling through the stars to eradicate the organization behind the Star Orphanage. Instead, he saw a terrifying monster, holding its tattered wings, occasionally turning its head to lick the wounds on its wings.

Leng Shuju thought that the wings must be very important to that monster.

In the heart of that monster, perhaps, losing its wings was akin to losing its claws.

A terrifying monster, even without its wings, was still a terrifying monster. That was Leng Shuju’s deepest impression of Xi Guican. Even when he later became Marshal Xi, recalling this man, he could still feel the fear as if a demon had descended.

So when Leng Shuju clicked on Xi Guican’s Star Network account and saw the thousand-word rainbow fart, his expression was dumbfounded.

Is this world going mad, or am I going mad?

Xi Guican, of all people, would actually praise someone like this with such genuine emotion…

Was his account hacked?

Equally shocked were his millions of fans. As fans of Xi Guican, their rations were all old rations. Since Xi Guican was diagnosed with the Spiral Spiritual Devouring Syndrome two years ago, the fans truly experienced what it meant to run out of supplies.

During Xi Guican’s recovery period, he did not post any updates on his Star Network account. If it weren’t for the increasing duration of watching his live streams, everyone would have suspected that Xi Guican had been bedridden to his grave.

So when, in the wee hours of the morning, everyone saw the Star Network prompt “Your followed user has posted an update,” their first reaction was that they might have rubbed their eyes too much from self-abuse.

When it was confirmed that it was indeed Xi Guican who had posted an update, these fans, who had been waiting eagerly, rushed into the homepage, fully prepared to congratulate Xi Guican on his recovery-

Nonsense, with Xi Guican’s personality, besides such a major event like recovery, how could he possibly post an update!

Wait, no, if there was no hope for recovery and he was about to die, he would also post an update to inform everyone.

Thinking of this terrible outcome, the fans’ mood was as stimulating as a roller coaster ride. Covering their hearts, they dared not click on the update, fearing the worst.

So when everyone had mentally prepared themselves and, with the craziness of a desperate gambler, clicked on the update, and saw the thousand-word rainbow fart, everyone exploded.

The fans who still had their sanity left could inquire about Xi Guican’s health, but the vast majority of fans went crazy with jealousy. While crying and asking if Xi Guican’s account had been hacked, they called on friends to form groups to chop down their rivals.

Then an even more outrageous scene unfolded.

Xi Guican came down to scold people, not just one person, but all the fans who said they were going to chop down their rivals.

Xi Guican: Dare to hurt him, and I’ll kill you first

The scolded fans were dumbfounded at first, then ecstatic. They followed Xi Guican’s account frantically leaving comments: “God, come and kill me, my address is xxxxxxx, I’ve taken off my clothes and cleaned myself waiting for you to come to my door!”

Other fans who realized what was happening said, “Ahhh, this annoying guy has been flipped! Oh my god, I want to go chop people too, do you want to come and chop me?”

“Wow, god, you still have the energy to fight, is your body getting better? I love you, god, take care of yourself.”

Xi Guican: “…”

Retrieving the hundred-meter-long broadsword proved somewhat difficult, and feeling despondent, everyone suggested it might be better to simply end it all by slitting their throats.

They ran back in tears to apologize to Xi Guican, praising He Ruge’s melodious voice amidst sobs. Some of the more spiritually inclined fans had already gone to commend Xi Guican for the quality of the thousand-word rainbow farts he had written.

Xi Guican: “…Hmph.”

Fans were a miraculous existence. Each of them possessed a microscope, discovering the shining points on their idols. They can blow an ordinary thousand-word rainbow fart into the sky, making Xi Guican feel uplifted and even consider himself a writing genius.

Even though in the past everyone crazily praised Xi Guican’s performance in Star Wars as handsome, Xi Guican has never been as happy as today.

He happily liked one of the high-quality rainbow farts, and other fans started going crazy, blowing He Ruge as if possessed, pushing He Ruge to the top of the trending topics.

Upon seeing the trending topic, passersby initially scorned the scandalous headlines, but upon clicking into them, they all enthusiastically performed the “authentic fragrance” scene.

On this ordinary night, many people did not go to sleep, including prominent figures from both the dovish and hawkish camps.

They opened their eyes in the darkness and turned their gaze toward this rapidly rising newcomer—

He Ruge.
